Hi, Iām Stella Chegwidden
Born and raised in Columbia, Missouri in a family that always encouraged play outside or go on nature walks. They grew up loving the outdoors and using their imagination to be creative. Stella Chegwidden is currently studying metalsmithing at Southern University of Edwardsville. They are set to graduate in the spring of 2026. They mainly work with mediums such as metal and glass. Combining these mediums to create sculptures and jewelry. Stella's artwork focuses on a broad range of topics such as memory, childhood, nostalgia, the body, and nature. Exploring ideas of the relationship between childhood and nature exploration. Stella is a title leader of SEGA (Society of Edwardsville Glass Association), WHAM (Wagner Association of Metals), and SAW (Sculptors at Wagner) At Southern University of Edwardsville. As well as being a part of the Yearly SIUE student juried exhibition in 2024.
